Do you have a large dog or two and trying to find a condo, townhome or villa of your dreams? This is a daunting task and not easy to do!
If you’re a dog lover owner and want to live the maintenance free lifestyle you get with a Lake Norman waterfront/water view condo, you’ll want to be sure to know what pet restrictions there are if any, in the specific complex…yes complex, not just the subdivision. For example, Davidson Landing is made up of over 10 different complexes with each having their own bylaws.
Here is a scenario of what could happen:
A couple bought a town home and were delighted with their new home. Another resident noticed the couple had two large dogs. The association rules stated each unit can only have one pet and the pet weight could not exceed 40 pounds.
What is the recourse for the couple? Changing the bi-laws is possible but highly unlikely. In conclusion, the new owners has to sell their condo and move to a pet-friendly complex.
Not to worry. Your fellow dog lover and real estate broker/Realtor Jack, @ AHomeSuiteHome.com and he will be happy to navigate the dog regulation minefield for you.
